- gene is shown as being very patriarchal
- edited in with sound bridges so that the black character can be heard but not seen.
- Gene Hunt has the most screen time and he is a white man.
- audience wouldn't notice there were any other ethnicity's other than white
- representation of ethnicity is a stereotype of the 1980's
conclusion
- the clip is shown with little other ethnic groups to give a true representation of the 1980's culture
